Chemex supplies The Welsh Wok - BBC2 Series The Restaurant |

 Peter Ridge ( franchisee in the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire area ) has been supplying 'The Welsh Wok', one of the restaurants competing in the BBC2show The Restaurant which gives 9 couples the chance to win their very own restaurant which will be financially backed and personally supported by Raymond Blanc.The Restaurant features couples, some of whom have little or no experience other than cooking at home and throwing dinner parties, but whose dream it is to run their own eatery. They have to create their perfect restaurant and then open the doors to the paying public.
Every week each restaurant will be visited by Raymond's panel of "inspectors". Raymond Blanc will then select the three restaurants he judges to be the worst performing and they are given a tough specific challenge. Each restaurant must prove that they are good enough to stay open or else they close and their dream lies in ashes. By the end of the series just one couple and one restaurant will be left. Will it be Laura and Peter from The Welsh Wok? Look out for Chemex products on the The Restaurant which is on BBC2 at 8pm every Wednesday and Thursday.  John Heslop and Keith Nutton recently held their Chemex annual golf day at Scalm Park Golf Club near Selby. Twelve players took part including John, Keith and Peter Heslop. The competition was a ¾ handicap stableford.

 Thousands of hotels, restaurants and pubs could be hit with punitive fines as local authorities and water companies crack down on improper disposal of fats,oil and grease (FOG).
Catering establishments have been hit with fines running into thousands of pounds for improper FOG disposal which has led to blocked drains. Chemex International has developed a hassle free system that will automatically keep drains and pipes clear of FOG blockages. Chemex Drain Management System (DMS) uses an environmentally friendly biological additive that safely digests grease, fats, oils, proteins, starch and cellulose and rapidly turns them into carbon dioxide and water.
