Kent business Chemex

A Kent man who started up a new business when most people are considering retirement has won a national award in recognition of his outstanding success.

Ian Allman, 61, has beaten off competition from 90 other franchisees to be chosen as the company’s most outstanding franchisee. The award reflects Ian’s performance, innovation and excellence of service.

Ian’s business is based in Maidstone and covers a large part of Kent including Dover, Canterbury and Ramsgate with customers in a wide range of industry sectors including food companies, restaurants, residential care homes and garages.

Ian, who is married to Carolle Ann and has four children, said: ”I think a few people were surprised when I started the business at an age when many are thinking of taking life a bit easier but that has neverIan Allman Kent been my style.

“I worked for 35 years in the motor industry with half of that time in sales and I just really enjoy meeting people and being able to provide them with advice and support to help their businesses.

“It is formula that works and I am now picking up a great deal of repeat business and new sales from personal recommendations and gaining a great deal of job satisfaction along the way.”
